During the class of business Applications the learning objectives are to learn about what a business is and how to operate/ own a business by using different services that are brought to us or offered, this is valuable for my future because I get to learn skills for the future if I ever feel like i want to start a business I would be able to learn the basics that it takes to start one.The world series of innovation invites young people to get involved in solving the biggest challenges facing humanity today and help advance the Sustainable Development Goals. In this “competition’ there is a chance to win up to $1800 which gets split with the persons team members. I achieved the learning goals of Identifying strategies for business startup and growth including identify mission and purpose of a business by creating a product that could make a big impact on somebody's life by working effectively I also achieved the learning goals of analyzing a proposed business situation and its business market by coming up with a solution that we could use for our market opportunity by donating to organizations.
At the beginning of the project I was excited to work on challenge one which was the Resonance Philanthropies Youth Health and Well being. The purpose for this challenge was to propose a new product, service or initiative to enhance the well being of children or teens living with a physical or mental illness or disability. The first thing we did in the project was to write an individual prewrite form on the wsi, we then got into teams and tried to find ideas that will work well with the challenge that we choose. After that we decided that ADHD will work well with the challenge so we started coming up with products that will make sense, finally we did a wearable device that will be effective with the people who deal with ADHD. This tells me about myself that I am a person that can come up with business ideas and a product to go along with it.
The two school wide learning outcomes I demonstrated with this artifact are a self directed learner who communicates effectively and thinking critically and creatively. I have demonstrated a self directed learner who communicates effectively by communicating with my partners about how we were going to design our product and come up with a video idea that explained our problem, our solution, and a product. I also demonstrated thinking critically and creatively by making different prototypes of what our wearable device is going to look like and what our slogan would be..
I was proud of this project because I think that the idea we came up with is a thing that would affect people in that group in a good way by helping them in their daily lives. I could have improved my work on this project by maybe adding more information to the voiceover on the commercial video. One thing I would do if I had a chance to do this project over again would be nothing because I really liked how our finished product came out, everything was done well and not in a fast paced so we really got to review everything we did. One goal I would like to set up for myself for my next project is to get stuff done for this project before time so I can be prepared to know what I should expect in the next steps. Overall this project was beneficial to my learning by coming up with new ideas.
